Matt Usher

Matt studied at Liverpool John Moores University where he received a Distinction for his Masters. Matt’s dissertation on the Churches of F. X. Verlade was nominated for the RIBA President’s Student Awards, and he was selected to represent his department at the annual RIBA Design Charrette.

Working primarily within the planning team at Architecture 519 on residential projects, Matt is involved in feasibility studies ranging from 30-500 units, concept designs and detailed design work up to planning stages. Technically literate in a range of software, Matt enjoys hand-drawing to quickly develop ideas and further a design. He is currently undertaking his RIBA Part III studies at Architecture 519, and is being supported by the practice in progressing his education through a range of projects and responsibilities.

Matt is particularly interested in Heritage and Conservation. He has been actively involved with the Listed Places of Worship Roof Repair Fund, helping to secure funding for the re-roofing of churches, surveying sites and assisting in overseeing the repair work.
