London & Quadrant Housing Association, in partnership with Mount Anvil Construction, developed the Atlip Road site in Alperton, north-west London to provide a mixture of affordable and luxury residential apartments set within four separate blocks ranging from 4 to 14 storeys in height. The team at Architecture519 developed the detailed working drawings for the build; optimising the approved layouts and improving the design and the buildability of the scheme, whilst remaining true to the design intent.
The construction methodology was varied across the site with cost-effective, traditional methods being adopted where possible on the lower blocks and reinforced concrete frames favoured for the larger, more complex blocks. The design incorporated a variety of external facade systems taken from a number of ventilated rain-screen cladding suppliers to provide a modern and contemporary appearance. Robust detailing was the key to delivering a successful project.
